How do I buy rims?

I'm looking at buying some new rims for my 2005 Impreza RS. Depending on the offset and bolt pattern some rims may / may not fit. How do I choose rims and be 100% sure that they fit?

I believe the bolt pattern for '05 STi's is 5x114.
the '05RS may be 5x100.

The bolt pattern on the Impreza is 5-100. You should be looking at wheels between 6.5 and 8 inches wide with an offset no less than ET48. Some guys do use lower offsets, but it is generally not recommended. If you have any questions about specific wheels, feel free to PM or e-mail me...

While this is definitely true if you have a Brembo Braked STi, or have upgraded your brakes, the RS should have no issues with this...
