    Default Calgary Flooding Images

This is the dog walking park by Southland and Deerfoot Trail.

Down as low as you can get - because the water is here. This is probably half a KM away from the ACTUAL river bank. It's nuts. The area directly infront of where this was shot is supposed to be the off leash area. There isn't supposed to be any water here. LOL. Nice.

This is the LaFarge plant. It's totally covered in water. Corner of Anderson as it merges onto Deerfoot in the SE.

    More LaFarge

    Yup.

There was a pretty large dog nearby when I was down near the fence. Had it taken just a few more steps, it'd be dead right now. The water was moving fast enough it couldn't have lasted very long...it was moving fast enough in several areas that an adult would get knocked over before the water got up to your knees.

    It was INSANE!

I'm going to go out again tomorrow and hopefully take some pictures in good light. I would assume that the level will stay quite high for several days. So it should make for some interesting pictures.

The rains of 10 years ago never saw anywhere near this degree of flooding. This is a historical event. It's crazy!!!

The other Lafarge plant. The one you're talking about is on Glenmore and Deerfoot behind the RCGA golf course. The one these pictures are taken at is at Anderson and Deerfoot close to Diamond Cove

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.
