    Default Ethanol blended gas

I'm aware that this is a bit of a contravertial issue, but is ethanol blended gasoline OK for an engine or is it just simply bad?

I've done some research, but it just seems that there's two distinct sides to this issue.

What do you think? ETHANOL GAS... Good or Bad?!?

Use the search feature. There's good discussions here.

I've had no problems with ethanol gas (94 husky/mohawk). Tuned tons of cars on it, all reliable and making good power.

in your owners manual it will tell you what the max limit of ethanol in the gas can be. just make sure what ever fuel you use doesnt exceed that limit. i dont think mohawk even comes close to that limit.

By law nothing hits that limit. 94 Mohawk/Husky comes close AFAIK.

I just started using Mohawks 94 Octane and there doesn't seem to be any problems. Maybe its just me but I do notice that when the car is idling, you can feel it a bit more. Anyone else get this?

At 20 psi boost I feel better knowing I have 94 octain gas but it's the only gas (in 92 octane only not 94) that gives me the occasional random misfire at idle due to my 264/264 cams. It's like Buckley's cough medicine. Makes you gag initially but you feel better in the long run.

you know, a proper ecu and proper tune would cure that problem .

I just haven't had the time to spring for dsmlink yet. Yes it needs a proper dyno tune as I have it as good as I can get it with my logger and SAFCII. Since I put the 660cc injectors in I haven't got any misfires but I've been running 94 octane all year and it was the Husky 92 that was giving me problems last year.

i have a better idea than blended gas.... inject your own alcohol!!!
see the alcohol injection thread in "forced induction talk".
