    Default Dyno Conversion?

    Hey, i jus recently got a dyno back...just wondering wat it is in reality...
    it was done on a mustang dyno, so just wondering what ud use to compare to a dynojet (ive heard it was take it and multiply by 1.13)
    so, how do i get from mustang dyno figures to dynojet figures
    and how do i get from mustang dyno figures to crank hp figures
    dynojet to crank would b cool too, im sure im not the only one thats wondered...
    numbers im looking to convert would be
    357.2 rwhp
    362 rwtq - both on a mustang dyno, just wanna see what im making at the crank more or less...this was all at pump gas too, hopefully race gas will see some more...
    thanx!

    I'm sure you're well over 400 crank hp/tq. Yes mustang dynos in town read lower. Where did you have it done? The mustang shop? I always like to quote the mustang dyno number figures, makes my times more impressive

    multiply by 1.13 to dyno jet then by 1.10-1.15 for drive train on RWD. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    was done at tecmotion...

    hmm
    so 357.6 x 1.13 = 403.6 (dynojet) n then 403.6 x 1.13 we'll say is 456 bhp
    trq would then b 362.5 x 1.13 = 409 (dynojet) and then 409 x 1.13 = 463 for crank tq?
    make sense?

    I might get called an asshole for this, but IMO you can use guideline to get an idea but at the end of the day :

    Mustang Dyno #'s are obtained from a Mustang Dyno.
    Dynojet #'s are obtained from a Dynojet.

    It's generally accepted that an auto tranny loses about 18-20% on a Dynojet and a manual tranny loses about 15%.

    ok, so then how much do mustang dynos lose? isnt that what i asked?
    since u dont seem to know, and neither do i, i figured maybe convert it to dynojet numbers then convert that to flywheel hp numbers...

    General guideline, fairly accurate, some exceptions of course:

    MustangWHP * 1.13 == DynojetWHP
    MustangWHP * 1.31 == FlywheelHP
    DynojetWHP * 1.16 == FlywheelHP

    Based on testing a bunch of stock cars on different dynos and comparing with manufacturer ratings.

    In the end, because of exceptions, dyno numbers should only be used to look for gains in modding car, not to brag about numbers.

    awesome, thanx!
    didnt really wanna know for bragging rights, the numbers arent that impressive..
    but stillen does hav an "upgrade path" that i just wanted to compare to see how i sized up to that (it givs its hp ratings at flywheelHP)
    thanx again!

    Here is a great site explaining the diference between a Mustang Dyno and a Dyno jet.

    Very interesting. They observed very little difference (331 vs 315) between a Dynojet and Mustang Dyno.
