    Default Hobby Into A Job?

In the past few years ive had a passion for working on my car. From doing a complete audio setup to installing exhausts, turbos and intercoolers.
Basically, I want a job at a performance shop.
Hard thing is, I have no mechanical experience as my only employment has been cellular sales then an entrepreneurial position for the last 7 years.
Should I even try to apply as a store helper/installer? Or stick with something like being an aftermarket parts vendor?

You could probably get into sales with your experience if you found a shop looking for people, but if you know sales then you may prefer to get into the back of the shop away from most customers.

Alot of stereo shops could always use a good installer so if you applied as a helper and prooved yourself you could probably have that position for a few years as the great installers are kept, and the medioceres are thrown around.

I found that turning Hobby into a job can be bad. It can turn something you really like to something you hate.

    ^^^ to that

I did that with taekwon-do... I loved training so when i was asked to start teaching, i said sure.... but after a while it started to become a hastle to go there because i would have to teach classes all the time (and they where mostly childrens classes too, damned little brats)

IMO, keep them seperate... a hobby should be something to do to ESCAPE from your job

Well, how about working in store-front sales at a performance shop?
    Does anyone here do this?

There's never any harm in trying right? If that is really what you want to do then go in and give it 110% and see what happens. Try a couple of different places within the city and see what people are looking for. If they tell you to go screw yourself then at least you tried right?
