Is my ECU toast?

A buddy of mine is doing an H22 swap and couldn't get his car to fire. I lent my ECU out to see if his ECU was not working. His car still didn't fire.

When I put my ECU back in my car the CHECK ENGINE light came on. But when I tried to retrieve the codes, there were none. Now there's a solid CHECK ENGINE light. My car seems to run fine though (a little bit rougher than usual at idle). Is my ECU fried?

Oh yeah, it's a P28 ECU (with OBD2A-OBD1 conversion).

And when I first plugged the ECU back into my car it spit out 4 long flashes. Then I reset the ECU and there are no codes anymore. What is 4 long flashes? I know that 4 short flases is crank sensor...
