Default FS : JVC GR-HD1 HDTV Camcorder - CHEAP!

Time for me to move up to a pro HD camcorder... so I'm selling my JVC GR-HD1 HDTV Camcorder. This unit records on MiniDV tapes, and records both in standard definition (720x480) DV format in widescreen at 60fps progressive, as well as HDTV format (1280x720) widescreen at 30fps progressive. I'm sure everyone has seen the HD clips I've posted of this camera, the quality is amazing. For those that haven't seen it, here's some WMVHD clips that I dug up. Remember that the WMV compresses at a fairly low bitrate, so expect the source video to look even crisper.

951 vs SLK 32 drag video:

me looking better cuz I'm drifting video:

All the footage was shot without any filters, and now that I'm using a polarizer and a ND4 filter, the images and color saturation are even better than the examples shown here.

This is an excellent camcorder, if you're not doing HD, you're still getting way better resolution (better than DVD resolution) if you master your stuff to DVD, making it look very professional compared to your standard MiniDV camcorders. If you're into filming your own pr0n, I guarantee you that this camera is the shit! Nothing like watching nekid chicks that you've banged on a 100" HDTV screen!

Here's a review for the unit.

Unfortunately, it doesn't allow real lenses to be added on (my big beef with it), but it does allow standard 52mm filters and those tiny lenses (fisheye for example) to be installed.

Some pics of the camera? See my thread when I first got the unit last year.

It's a year and a half old now, I paid well over $4000usd for it, the cheapest I can find now is about $3500cdn (not counting those NY unreliable ebay shops).

Asking $2000 obo. A friggin' steal hehe.

Feel free to ask any questions about the camera!

Make me an offer. That's why it's OBO .

As for the Sony Cam, it's not really true HD, as it's native resolution 1280x540 presented as 1280x1080 interlaced. From there, your video editing software can upconvert it to 1280x720x30 (720p) or 1920x1080x60i. I just bought the HDRHC1 as well and wasn't too pleased with it. It does work better for my in car mounts though because of it's smaller size/weight.

The JVC is TRUE 1280x720 resolution. Higher quality CCD. Image quality is noticably better on the JVC.

Anyways, make me an offer .
