    Default Passport

What is the length of time it takes between applying for a passport in person to physically having the passport in your hand ready to go?

I know they are mailed from Missisauga. I live in Calgary. The receipt I got says the mail-out date is August 8, but the guy at the passport office says that's the day I will physically have it.

Well I applied in person on 15th of this month and I am supposed to pick it up on the 29th. On the form for instructions it said if you mail it, takes about 3-4 weeks if I remember correctly.

If you make it urgent, and give the extra $50 I think it is, then it will come asap...

I dunno, if you applied in mail then I am not too sure if you will get it that fast. I applied in person and its taking around 14 days including weekends. 3-4 weeks I would say is min. if you mail it in. You can call them to check and see if they can do it any faster or not.

O if you applied in person then it should be good. Didnt they give you like a reciept which says the pickup date on it?

The receipt says "Mail-out Date" so just wondering if that meant it was being mailed that day from Missisauga or the day I can pick it up.

    btw thanks for everyone's help.

Well the reciept I got says "Date for Pickup"!
Just wondering when you dropped it, you paid the $10 (fees for pick-up service" right? If not, then it might be something different for you.

How much time do you think I'd save by picking it up instead of having it mailed to me?
