The 350Z would win. I've seen it, multiple times.

^^ some info on a 350 if anyone cares. I think the 5.0 would win but I'm gonna find some information on it.

1st number is 0-60 mph, second is quater mile.

    1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 6.2 14.80
    2005 Ford Mustang GT Convertible (5-speed Man) 5.0 13.70

    2004 Infiniti G35 (6-speed Man.) 6.3 14.60
    2004 Infiniti G35 6MT 5.9 14.20

    2004 Nissan 350Z Conv. Touring 5.5 14.30
    2003 Nissan 350Z Touring 5.7 14.30

    Taken from: http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm

I guess it depends on what Mustang your talking about. The older ones will get spanked, the newer ones won't. It looks to me that the 350 is a bit quicker from the line, but once the traction is there they hold the same through the gears.

My numbers were for the 5.0L Cobra, not the LX. It'd help if the original poster states whether he was comparing the Cobra or the LX. All he said was "1993 5.0 Mustang."

What you're referring to are known as "canadian cobras". Basically just rebadged GT's. But in 1993 there actually was a Cobra produced in the states which was more than just a decals and body kit.

Yeah I know, but I guarantee it wasn't a real cobra he is talking about.

There's a bone stock LX 5.0 in the world?? I doubt it.. Pull up along side a LX and if it sounds stock, there is probably a woman behind the wheel.

Secondly, the "bone stock" 93 Cobra sported these numbers on the 1/4 mile

Fabulous Mustangs & Exotic Fords, February 1993
    . . . . .¼ mile: 14.05 @ 98 mph

But honestly, when you heard that Cobra fire up, even though the race would be close, i'd take the cobra in a heardbeat. Not to mention this was the first year they started the SVT line so it's a major collectors item.

    350Z definately.

    The 350Z is a mid-14 car stock. Those 93 Mustang GT's were a mid-to-low 15 car stock. No contest.

i dont care what your numbers say and weight and all....i have driven both, a 350z and g35 coupe and 4 door, and have driven many 5.0l's. 350z and g35 felt the exact same. but every 5.0l is different some are fast as fuck some are slow ( these were all stock ). personally if you found a 5.0l with 0 km on it and raced it against the 350z, 5.0l would win. not because it is a crazy car but because the 350z and its brother g35 are not that fast. trust me

The '93 Cobra only 5000 produced I think or less Will spank the 350Z. The '93 cobra had the entire GT-40 Package. Heads, Intake, and exhaust setup. Ford rated it at "245hp" but the number was very conservative. Also on a side note, the '93 For Cobra 'R' only 107 produced will basically make the 350 look like a pinto. Stock for stock of course

'93 cobra stock - High 13's good driver
    '93 cobra 'R' - low 13's.

350Z 16 something at race city
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."
