Trunk Grip Painting
Painting this one of the best modifications so far. It looks so good, I could say im thrilled
I got a new stip from the dealer (cough free cough) normally a 200 dollar item . It is from a 2002 325i, painted blue. My car is green, my original strip was black.
The new strip is of much better design, with a "micro" switch, and a better license plate bulb holder. The switch is a much better feel when opening the trunk from the grip.
I ordered spray paint in my color (look above for code), straight from Germany. Apparently no dealer knew this existed, as no one had ordered it in Canada . It came with a clear coat. As the guy messed up, he ordered paint touch up, I got it for $20!!!. (Normally 55+).
It took a few coats.
I used:
-1500 Grit Sand Paper
-1000 Grit Sand Paper
-BMW Spray Paint
-BMW Clear Coat
-Distilled Water (Cleaning etc.)
-Masking Tape
We are in the middle of renovations, so a perfect time to steal some drop cloth and paint away!
To the pictures!
