    Default North American Solar Challenge

Anyone go to it this afternoon at the U of C? The cars started crossing the line about 11:20 this today. I was pretty surprised at the number of people that showed. Crowd went nuts when our local guys crossed the line

Got a bunch of photos, but I haven't gone through very much of them yet. Here's one I got of the U of C team right after they crossed the finish line:

Hopefully I'll get to them sometime this weekend.

I managed to see the UofC car on the road. All in all, a job well done by a rookie team. Compared to the other teams, the UofC team was greatly underfunded.

Good job by the UofC team
(Do you think they have room for a Beyond sticker on their car? )

How did it look on the road? Was it cruising pretty quickly? At the finish line, it didn't look like it was going too fast. There were team members jogging next to it! Hahaha!

Heh, all the teams had their team members jogging beside it. I heard on the news that the restriction for speed was the speed limit. At times on a fully charged battery the UofC team (along with others) were cruising at 100kph.

Ah, yeah, that's right. I forgot about the speed limit rule. I heard they managed to get it as high as 130kph.

Yeah I was pretty surprised it can do 100 km/h. Heh too bad the car didn't have more power, if I were the driver, I'd do a smoke show, haha.

Not a bad idea, I'll see if I can get one on next year!

My name's engraved on one of the solar panels, I'm sure a small sticker wouldn't be too much of a problem.

That would be sweet, we should give them lanyards and t-shirts to wear at the end of the race next year
