Default is it alright to have a cpu laptop always run at the highest cpu speed?

    dynamic cpu frequency mode

I have this in my toshiba hardware config - able to choose if i want the cpu to remain switchable, meaning it will switch between 1.5ghz and say 733mhz at times, depending on how much power it needs at times or have it set to always high - meaning it will always run at the max speed of your cpu.

Now the thing is, what would be the pros and cons of running a your cpu always at the highest speed? is there any risk in this, say making the laptop get hotter or overheat?

    thanks

it will run hotter and use more power. Can't see any other problems with it.

it clocks down to save battery life, if you're not worried about that, than go for it. The computer can handle it

    Yup its fine.
It will just give you more heat and less battery life.
    Not really causing any damage.
