I got the ticket, but the cops said they needed to take a "sample" from my window and cut an awefully disgusting chunk out of my driver window. They cut like a ghetto ass c shape, looked like absolute shit and needed to get the entire window redone..

Ummmm, why wouldn't you just strip both front windows?

I had an Audi A6 for about two years, with tint all around. Not once did the cops look my way. Even for speeding - which is pretty much a constant with highway driving for me...

I never understood the appeal of blackout tint all around on your car. If you are morbidly obese, sure, go for it. But if you spent all that cash on a nice ride, why would you want to hide your face?

Blackout tint doesn't make you look cooler.. it makes people assume you are a creeper. Its like wearing mirror shades at the beach.

I don't think it's about hiding your face. It makes the car cosmetically look much better.

lol this is exactly what i have always thought, trying to hide your face from the ugliness?

    However.

I have sat in my friends talon with very light passenger and driver window tint (and full rear tint) on a hot bright sunny day to lethbridge and it does lower the temperature somewhat in the cabin especially getting back into it in the parking lot after an hour or 2 in 25 +degree weather.

so personally i wouldnt have tint, fully charged A/C can fix the heat issue anytime.

regardless, wheres this wesley v character anyways? come back here and explain yourself. 4 year bump

Same. My allroad has tint all around, but only 35 in the front windows, compared to 20 in the back 5. I live close to a police department, and have been right beside police on a semi-daily basis. I've never been pulled over once.

Guess it's the difference between a ricey looking car, that probably has a punk kid inside, compared to a "soccer mom" mobile, lol.

I use to roll down my windows whenever I saw then but nowadays it seems like they just don't care so i don't even bother?
Its 20% all around. And ya, I've had mine for over two years with no problems, hell i even got pulled over for speeding and they didn't mention the tint. So I guess it's just luck of the draw, sometimes you run into an officer with nothing better to do.

What, no windshield tints? Not even "light tint"? But I heard BMWs were excluded and allowed to have their windshields tinted.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

While not quite as old as this thread, that joke still delivers!

Hmmm I thought we were in a country that presses freedom for its citizens.

-Red/Green Light cameras (What's next? Yellow cameras?)
    -Van Photo radars
    -Tinting Violations
-My STOCK exhaust is too loud...WTF?
-My day time running light can't be white...WTF?

I think we all pay enough taxes to compensate for some of the ridiculous tickets and violations they charge us for.
