Default 95 Stealth R/T TT hesitation under accelaration. help?

When acceleration hard, there's a sudden loss in power at about 4500-5000rpm, then it pulls again. This only happens under full acceleration. What's up? The car is stock except for a K&N drop in. It has 100,000km. The boost guage doesn't drop while this happens(but it's not accurate anyway). I was thinking maybe sparkplugs, injectors????

Anyone ever experienced this, or suggest anything?

    Thanks!

Check the plugs and wires, also check the ignition coil. Throttle body might be sticking?

I bet it's plugs and wires too. At least that's what most people at www.dsmtalk.com think. It's my parent's car and I suggested to him that it was the plugs/wires, but he says that it can't be that. He says it's a fuel problem, but he's just guessing. I'll have to wait and see what he does

At first it sounds like a fuel problem (and may be) but there are lots of things to check on those cars before you can make an educated hypothesis.

    Wiring, Fuel Pump, Injectors, Ignition...

I would check as suggested as well.
Ignition (pay attention to the coil)
    Fuel Filter

Just to let ya know I'm having the same problem too but it's a little random and at higher rpm

    Premature dumping of boost?

Do you think the computer could be sensing over-boost somehow and then deciding to run in "limp" mode for those quick few seconds?

    Hmmm....

actually it's got 2 turbos. R/T TT = Twin Turbo. 320hp,14lbs of boost(according to the guage), awd, 18's w/Dunlop9000. I was driving it today, by myself!!!!

Sound likes the coil to me, i have a simaillar problem at lower rpm caused my MAF.. but i know its not that. Check the coil, spark plugs and wire (double check firing order too)....

Or do me a favour,, drop the motor out and give it to me for my truck!!!!!! (future plans for it include the 6g72tt motor)

A blown MAF should pretty much disable the car though, not just in one part of the power band. On most vehicles, a completely blown MAF puts the car into limp mode.

I've had the same problem - turned out to be the ignition computer. A slight stall and kick for a quick second, and then everything is normal. After a few days, my car refused to start. This was my bmw though...

Did you try and get the car over 2500 RPM?
