Hi PJPenis, my Logitech Mediaplay mouse has an optical sensor that uses infrared radiation, so there is no visible light emission.

copper something or razr (search for those) is releasing a laser blue one that has crazy resolution for about 80US
if u want it cheap, just take ur optical mouse apart and solder a blue led on
yeah modding was what i thought...and Penis seems to be a running joke...wasnt expectin that one GTS
as for the IR mouse...was hopin to make it co-ordinate with my computer a lil bit...here's a pic of my desktop to give you an idea

Has this actually been done? What's the gaurantee that the sensor will be receptive to blue light rather than red?Originally posted by dragonone

Consider the Logitech Mediaplay. Though the optical sensor emits no light, it does have backlit blue buttons on it to match the rest of your system.

yeah...now sometimes the LED turns off cuz of a loose connection...couldnt get it out so its still red...that n i dont have a soldering iron (or whatever its called)
regarding the other mouse, I might just consider it...once i work up the dough that is...

Here's a DIY procedure.

Edit: Never mind... this doesn't actually replace the red LED with blue.
that mouse is a lil too bright of a blue for me, but thanks i'll keep it in mind (i do have paint...)
oh and Five, thanks anyway

replacing the led is like a changing ur headlite bulbs
it's one of the easiest mod you can do to your comp
the only thing u ahve to b careful of is soldering the led -ve and +ve terminal
blue is actually more accurate or responsive than red because of it's wavelength or something
a similar DIY:

anyways, it's been done and it's relatively safe, or just get the copperhead mouse i mentioned:
