    Default DVD burning

    ok so i obtained a movie on my comp from a freind it is a winamp file i was wondering if that can be burnt onto a dvd for use in a dvd player.or does it have to be a certain file type? it runs on my comp now as a media file what type of file do i have to get to make the video work on a normal dvd player

    nope it didnt make sense...
    unless what you asking is while burning movie to a dvd you can still share it in ares and watch it?

    havent tried in a long time, but iirc yes

    maybe if u edited the post and removed words like d/l movie
    just b smarter nxt time (even tho u could've d/l a home video made by ur relatives)

    ok to answer your question

    u probably said it's a winamp file because it's ur default video client (it plays video as well)

    therefore, u need to know what kind of file it is. typical files are avi/mpg/rm/rmvb/vob etc.
    once you know what kidn of video file it is you can work your way to doom9.org or ask us here to use which appropriate converter to convert your video to a vcd/svcd/dvd (all 3 will work in ur dvd player)

    a side note, have u even checked if your dvd player plays recordable media yet? you can try videohelp.com to see the capablilities of ur dvd player or unlock them

    so if i have some videos in divx format what would i use to convert them to something a dvd player will play?

    I like DVDsanta. Its converted everything ive thrown at it.
