    Default Purchasing a Pocket Bike

Hi, I was wondering what I should look for while purchasing a pocket bike. There are currently two websites that sell them in Canada and are in my price range. Please tell me if these bikes are good and if anyone has any information about these two companies. Thanks!

I plan to get one of these bikes OR any nice bikes that anyone here is selling.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

my buddy has the first bike and i have the giovanni one, they are basically the same in every aspect. One common problem with them are the shitty mufflers but thats no big deal cause i just ripped mine off haha. These things are so fun and you get quite the attention, but when you get the bike make sure you tighten everything up before riding.

Is it okay if you ask your friends to take some pictures of it?

Edit: Also does the repsol one actually have 2.5L gas capacity?

ok, I don't understand this, someone explain it

pocket bikes are hard to ride if you are anywhere near taller than 3 feet tall

    they are slow

they are illegal on public streets

they cost more than a winter beater

    wtf?

No, they're not. I'm 6'3", its not hard.

No, they're not. Stock, they can reach 40-45 km/h, with modifications they can go much faster. Plus, it feels like you're going way faster than you really are.

Only if you get caught. But, there are pocket bike nights at Race City on Tuesdays, and if you can find an empty parking lot or something like that, and you are smart about it, you won't be hassled by the police.

For $400, yes you could get a beater, but it would be a total piece of shit.

They're not for everyone, so if you don't see the fun in owning one, don't buy one.

the giovanni site says they can reach 40-45 MILES per hour and around 70-75 Km/h....or is that wrong and these are slow

    72 km is pretty fast....

and, where can you ride these? can you ride it in your cul de sac or around your community?
there are some people that race them around my house in montery park

edit- or is the top speed 72km with noone on it? xD the top bike site says 55km + depending on weight of rider, how fast would the giovanni bikes go with someone from 110-130lb on it?

My Giovanni stock went about 45-50Kph. I weigh about 170 (yes...semi fat-bastard). These bikes are sh*t...plain and simple....You get what you pay for. For the air-cooled bike you have to REALLY take care of them in order to get the best performance. I had to put over $600 worth of mods on my bike before it would even get close to those speeds...and every mod I put on didn't make that much of a difference (and I have changed everything but the engine). Also the giovanni guy says 49cc....that is Bullsh*t...they are only 47cc...I measured the piston. After all the mods my bike runs at about 60-65KPH at top speed on a good day, with me flapping my arms. The major difference I noticed was the pickup out of corners....REALLY FAST now.

We have a few places we can ride at but we had to get permission from the parking lot owner in order to ride them legally. Other than that the only place to ride legally is at race city speedway.

If I can recommend anything to you, it would be this: Buy a liquid-cooled bike!!!! Way more time between rebuilds and for the extra money you would spend on mods you could get a way faster "stock" liquid-cooled bike for the same or less price. I would recommend the 911 "Polini" replica's for handling and power...but that's is just my opinion. That is what I bought, and let me tell you, it beats the Giovanni bikes like they were standing still...no joke.
