    facilities Consultant for Trotter&Morton.
I sell HVAC services in calgary for buildings and condos under 200,000 Sq/Ft.
We at Trotter and Morton had a paradigm shift quite some time ago. We decided to partner with our customer by changing our attitude towards basic preventive maintenance. We do not accept equipment failures as routine and normal. We believe that it is an ineffective and limiting standard that says, “machinery breaks, people make mistakes, and systems fail”. By challenging this belief and taking steps to eliminate unnecessary failures and taking fiscal and physical responsibility for those systems, we have helped our customers control costs, and enhance resident comfort.

If you live in a condo or own a business and your HVAC system is causing problems we are the No 1 diagnostics and Finial Fix company

I understand you attitude as this is Calgary...but in most other cities and abroad architects design as well as do what you claim only you can do!!!
I think what he's saying is that an Architect doesn't have the equivalent of a P.Eng stamp... You can't draw up a building and then stamp it to guarantee to the public that it is structurally sound with a xxx% safety factor, guaranteed for xxx number of years, etc.

As far as I know you'd need a civil engineer to do that. Correct me if I'm wrong... I'm not in civil so I don't know!

I am on here somewhere back but it is no doubt inaccurate now.

Electrical Engineer, Junior I, Sigit Automation

and Super_Geo, thats my understanding of it too, an architect doesnt engineer anything, they just make it look good and make sure the civil and structural engineers wont want to kick their ass later
