Your thoughts echo mine sometimes. However i don't think working selling cars would be as glamorous as you think.

This combined with working with slimeball coworkers (I know there are exceptions, but largely I've found this to be true)... yeah eff that. I'm going to stick to using my engineering degree.

Now owning a dealer, that might be something I could get behind.

Unless you've got millions in the bank and can prove you have automotive management experience, no manufacturer will give you a franchise. In order to buy a dealership you have to buy the land, building, and the inventory plus prove to XX manufacturer that you aren't going to run it into the ground.

Do you really think i, or anyone for that matter, think buying a car dealership is as simple as wearing a cheap suit and applying for a small business loan?

It's a pipe dream, dont be a buzzkill

Started my own companies 6 months ago - was kind of pushed into it, but so far its been good.

The oilfield customers are super slow right now, but we have been keeping busy doing controls and weighing systems in food plants, concrete plants as well as gravel pits.

Looks like you made the switch to sales.. So was it a good change? I have always wondered what it would be like in car sales..

Change of career for me. I am learning to buy and prep vehicles for export to the USA. Selling wheels and tires for a local shop on the side.
