Got a new resonator on the car :satisfaction:
This is the 3rd resonator that I've tried. The 1st was a generic 20" one that ended up being too loud after a while($80 + welding). The 2nd was a 24" Magnaflow one that was good for a couple months but then seemed deteriorated and was buzzy when cold and just too loud(display model, $115 + welding).
So today I picked up a 36" (41" overall!) one from Unlimited Perf. and Exhaust for $72. It's 4" in dia and supposedly non-restricting.
I get the welding done at Calgary Muffler(really good prices, epecially for repeat customers ), and now it's quiet low below 4k, and still totally smooth above.
Finally, no more embarrassment in that area...
I can actually hear some engine noise now.
Thanks to Nick for suggesting Unlimited.
Had I know what to do from the start it would have been below $500 for the exhaust system, but now I could have almost got a stainless pre-fabricated system. That's learning i guess.
Feel free to tell me how bad it sounded, now
