    Default VPN - 2019 recommendations

Currently I am using Cactus VPN but I have noticed lately that it has been disconnecting a lot and a few times some speed drops. My account is set to expire in about a month so now looking for a new VPN to download files and possibly remove some geo-blocking.

Some sites are mentioning ExpressVPN or Nord VPN and figured I would ask for recommendations.

I've been using Torguard for the last 2 years and they've been great!
One of the main perks with using them for me was because they do static IPs for streaming services. The few times I've had to open up a support ticket, I've always had super quick and helpful responses
If you're downloading, you must use a public server so keep that in mind

I also have Torguard but dont use it for streaming netflix.
Currently testing PrivateVPN as they have a server in the Philippines and seems to work well as well

I've been using Torguard for the past 6 months after reading another thread about VPN's. It's been good to me so far. No issues, and I've seen torrents as high as 30 Mpbs

I;m using NordVPN. No complaints. Seems to be fast enough. I only really use it on my NAS for torrenting.

Count me in as another Torguard user. Was going to switch to NordVPN but it costs more than Torguard does with the perpetual 50% off that I've got.

Still happy with PIA. Super easy to use!

They increased their prices recently but they gave a head up and let you renew with the old price.

I use both Torguard and Astrill. Tor can be slightly faster at times, but Astrill has the largest number of geolocation spoofing servers working in various countries. There isn't a single country in the Netflix or Amazon Prime catalogue that I can't get service from without the stupid "oops, you're using a vpn, visit this page about VPNs so you can read about how gay our agreements are with various countries, giving you in Canada 1/2 the number of catalogue shows/films/items as the USA for example." Astrill isn't cheap, it's $100 USD for a year, but for my usage it's worth it. Plus if you go to Hong Kong or China it'll work there and let you get past the Golden Firewall (I call it the Golden Shower), and view Western things that the Chinese Communist Party deems naughty.

Can you spoof yourself behind that golden firewall to experience the "approved Internet"? That would be fascinating.

FWIW when I visited Beijing two years ago, TorGuard worked behind the Great Firewall.

I doubt it will now, they've really cracked down. Even Astrill, the "go to" VPN in China for this, has been spotty due to a very concerted effort to close the leaks in the Golden Shower. Maybe Tor has made some moves recently, but from what I've read and heard from the Chinese players in DCS and on our forums, it's pretty tough sledding right now. Be nice if Tor was working though, as it's much cheaper.

ExpressVPN is good. I still get Hulu, US & UK Netflix, and can get around NBA blacklist for Raptors games. Also got Crave from US airports by connecting back to Canada.

Works well as Windows app, Android app, Mac, and I have a Linksys box with their firmware in the house.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone and went with torguard. Seems to be running smoothly and a lot more servers to use verses my Cactus VPN. Located a 50 % off code which also made it cheaper then what I was paying.

I use Veepn for work. This is a fast and safe VPN, in my opinion. I use it because I have a big family. Veepn supports connecting up to 10 devices simultaneously. So I recommend this vpn

    1.95/month for 37months.
