WCS $5.xx this morning apparently.
I hear american friends talk about how "russia and the saudis" need to fix this oil price fast. It's my opinion that if they are smart, they will keep pumping hard and crash the market even worse. For OPEC+ to claim a real victory, they have to really harm the long term ability of the USA to produce oil. Massive bankruptcies are the best way to do that. A few months of pain is insufficient.

I wonder if companies like Teck blamed 'politics' for stopping the project, when they likely had a good idea this was coming down.
So how much do you think Alberta should ask for in Equalization payments this year? Cuz there is no question we will do worse than the rest of Canada.
Cocoa $10,000 per tonne.
Even if there was 0 energy revenue we would still be a have province. You vastly understate how little the average have not province salaries look like. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Not to mention it's something like a three-year rolling average. It would have to be two years of pain to get equalization flowing in.
Kenney did emphasize a few times how supportive of Alberta the other premiers are. Supportive enough to pause equalization payments? We will see.

So what's the best industry to pivot into if one wants to stay and live in AB?
Depends on your skillset. However many other industries have strong bias against former oil and gas workers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Answer may also depend on what your current skillset in O&G was. Someone in automation may have an easier pivot than a production engineer.
