Hold or Sell?
I would hold it, which means you should probably sell and lock in returns as I tend to watch all of my returns vaporize. I'm doing that right now on Ford call options. I should be negative by the end of next week with the way things are going.
Realized gain are better than watching gains vaporize... It comes down to if you believe in the stock or if you were gambling. If you were gambling, you already won. If you believe in it then the only one who you gotta convince to keep holding is yourself. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It doesn't have to be a binary decision. Sell a portion (amount dictated by where you fall on the spectrum of confidence <-> gambling - for something like this, I imagine it'd be pretty skewed towards the gambling end unless you know something everyone else doesn't). You don't miss the boat if it goes to the moon, and you crystallize a bit of profit to offset losses if it falls.
I feel LCID will have more upside and their cars look great!

fees would eat my gains in a partial sale
I hate when I buy into shit like this, I hit the refresh button every 5 minutes lol
I don't really understand who would buy Rivn or really any of these new car makers. Like typically we accept that first year models from major car manufacturers will always have some quirks and it's wise to wait a year before you buy. How does anyone think companies that have almost no mass manufacturing experience of automobiles are going to release a polished vehicle in the first year or two? Even Tesla is a good example of that with tons of QC issues early on.
I read they have a contract to build 100,000.00 trucks for Amazon to use as delivery vehicles. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sell, sell, sell
do I FOMO the gains or FOMO the ride to the moon?
Beyond was discussing this and making the same points about Tesla when it was at $40, lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Fair but that doesn't speak to quality though. Delivery trucks aren't exactly a beacon of luxury. If stuff rattles or doesn't work it probably doesn't matter as their focus is entirely on a cost efficiency standpoint. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Like if a UPS delivery van has panel gaps ... who cares? But as a personal vehicle, kind of a deal.

Look at Tesla, the car is riddled with build quality issues and yet they keep selling.
Watch this.

That said, R1T wear the $100K price tag way better than Tesla Model S out of the gate. Software still need some baking tho.

If you think this is an auto-maker stock, then you should for sure not buy it. If you think this is a pure technology company, then the items you mention are very unimportant. That is a binary decision. The market certainly has made it's opinion known. I personally don't think the market is often wrong. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
