Well, it was very frustrating as it kept on kicking me out. Two Jack Lakeside was basically booked right away on the days we wanted to go and even all the weekends I checked despite being in the queue early this morning. Now, it kicked me out totally from the queue and there's 22,000 people ahead of me lol (but I know it's all of Canada's National Park). It'll take more than an hour before I can get in to the reservation system. Sucks.
Today is literally just Banff. It's that busy!

I was positioned 2800 this morning then after just 20 min waiting, got in and couldn't book for the dates we wanted then from then on, it kept kicking me out. We will be just booking for Two Jack Main now instead.

Someone tricked me into looking through some old photos. So this one clearly belongs in the camping thread.

Took the camper to Golden for some skiin. The golden RV park is waaay more like a campground then RV park and had power to keep the heat rolling all night. Some lessons to learn with the camper but pretty good first trip

wow! @Brent.ff the last thing I expected was for you to keep the taco and add a slide in camper. Thats cool! How are you liking the pop-up?

Ha ya it was a bit of a rollercoaster for a while. The cost and wait for a 1T was a bit nuts, and the Taco has been absolutely bullet proof so it deserved to live on. We lucked out in finding a Four Wheel Camper as they're absolute unicorns in Canada which swayed us all the way. Put a pretty substantial $$ upgrade into suspension but it drives like an absolute dream with the camper on, so happy with that decision to date. Also think it'll hold its value really well due to rarity

Pop up will take a bit of time for us to get used to, as it is a lot smaller then our old camper, but definitely will be better for when I want to tow the boat or do a dirtbag trip to BC. A lot less beer space in the fridge, but performed well on the weekend (when we never would have taken the trailer out in the same conditions). Our friends rented a campervan for the weekend and it was pretty dope, but dont think you'd ever want to take those things to the places i want to go..

The places that rented fwd compact cars have been extracted from is astonishing. Placed where 4wd trucks have issues.

Alberta Parks doing some sort of noisy generator initiative, where you're allowed to kill campers that leave their generator on all day and night.

Story here - pilot program starting June 1, generator use will be limited to between 9 and 11 a.m., and 5 to 7 p.m at select campgrounds.
    Will fuck off, again.

Im not sure why they need to pilot this. They do this at many private campgrounds already with success.

Also Parks Canada, for years. Not that it matters because people still do it and no one seems to enforce it anyways.

Unenforced rules make me madder than a free for all.

Wish they would do it at every campground. They're only trialing it at sites that also have powered alternatives, so pretty dumb IMO.

We had people run generators at Chinook last year for ~13 hours straight before we finally gave them shit. People move their gennies away from their sites so they forget they're even on, yet just pass their noise onto their neighbors. Particularly bad when its a hard side so they dont even know how noisy their shitty little canadian tire generator is..
