Vitek is good ..
Sheni is good too .. but not that much cheaper then dealership .. say ~ 20-30% so depends on what kind of service you want.

My Dad uses Parm @ Motorwerks and my coworker uses Vitek, no issues with either.
I've heard some horror stories about Sheni's though.

Dunno Sheni's...dunno Parm...dunno Alpine...don't like dealers...so I go to the only place that doesn't have drama posts...Viteks.
Motorwerkes. Just had service done on my 325XIT there recently. Great work, very professional, and would highly recommend them.
yep, $6 in loonies on a $2K service. C'mon now. Not hard to notice either, they weren't loose but in the change holder that I purposely filled up. It was obvious that they were missing. Next time I'm getting some silver nitrateOriginally posted by max_boost
haha that's so gay, stealing change? I would purposely put a couple bucks there just to see if they would take it lol
heloc that shit
Just finished up a major service at Motorwerkes. Parm worked on the car. Everything was done to perfection.. very thorough. Don't be fooled by the ridiculous crap on this forum.. he's a fine mechanic. I'd highly recommend him.
A few years ago, I was at Sheni's every second week. Work used to be great. If Sheni works on your car, I think you're ok, him and his son are excellent mechanics. However, due to demand, I feel like the guys they've hired as shop hands aren't the best. As such, my last couple services there (a year so ago) were quite poor with failing parts, inaccurate diagnoses, etc. I certainly wouldn't go as far to say that I wouldn't recommend them.. just make sure you get Sheni himself. Personally I won't go back, unfortunately. It's sort of bittersweet, because my cars literally "grew up" there.. a 92 E36 and a 95 E36.
That said I am pretty damn happy with the work Parm did on an E46 M3 I just bought. It's in a good location too, if you work downtown (near ctrain). +1 for Parm @ Motorwerkes.
There are many other good BMW shops.

i have had a few shady expeiences with shenni
Hands down I would go to Vitek's.
I have posted a previous thread on here about a major issue that I had with my car. I took it to Vitek's AutoWorks Inc and dealt with Aaron.
He knows his stuff and was very helpful. He educated me on BMW's and how to maintain them. He even showed me the damaged parts once he had taken them out. He shampooed my engine free of charge .... All in all the service was great even the receptionist was super nice. Their prices are decent and they are quick and efficient. They give you their honest opinion on things.
I will only take my car there from now on.
My dad has a 540i with a ton of km's on it but honestly looks like it's brand new. Not a single scratch on it, even the headlights don't have pits in them.
He always took it to Calgary BMW and they did decent work on it... or so he thought... the last time he took it there they broke some clips (it happens it's an old car) but just taped the parts back on. My dad has told them numerous times that anything that is not 100% needs to be replaced. Anyways he was unhappy with the service so I posted up on here a while ago.
People recommended Viteks, so I told him and he took his car there. WOW! My dad isn't easily impressed but he was so happy with the work there he refuses to even consider taking it anywhere else.
Can't go wrong with Viteks.

That is not true! sheni's business is very strong and they are moving to a bigger better shop. I know it because I work with them.
You must be confused that they were closed for holidays but never shut down.
They showed me their new store. it is nice and much bigger.
In their website, it says " We are moving..."
I have a sneak preview of the new shop:

Does anyone know if any of these shops would let me bring in my own parts? Was going to attempt to DIY the water pump on my e34, and today it crapped out on me, and the car is my DD and I need it back on the road ASAP but have no time until after Xmas, so I might have to resort to using a shop but I would not want to waste the pump I already bought.
Yeah those guys are overpriced hacks. Their one of the reasons I decided to sell my Z4, I was just sick of dealing with them.Originally posted by sillysod

+1 for Vitek & Sheni!!

Probably, but the general rule is no warranty on the labor (or the part obviously) so IMO it's not worth the hassle for the little bit you're going to save...Originally posted by Clever

Indy shops are able to offer a lower labor rate due to the use of good quality aftermarket OEM parts so unless you're in the biz, you're probably not saving much, if any, by bringing in parts you bought somewhere else
