Yup. Can't realistically comment until someone actually tries it out on their unlimited high bandwidth low latency connection.
But technically they do render using a renderfarm that far surpasses a top of the line PC, and then pushes to your TV at 4K. Also has predictive (negative latency) which actually *is possible* and incorporated into every modern CPU - if you understand programming and speculative branch prediction.
If you have a fiber setup, could realistically be a far better solution than spending several thousand dollars on high end gaming PC equipment. I can imagine that if you play games "off peak" it may easily be 10x more graphical power than the most expensive home PC.
But this is all stupendously theoretical, like man on the moon type of stuff.

Yeah, I just posted so that beyonders will convince (brainwash) me to pre-order or pass. I'm definitely leaning toward pre-order after what they showed at google event.
Sony didn't do well with their streaming service, but Google has an absolutely massive Petabyte computational servers. I wouldn't mind knowing if/where they have any of the farms in Canada. Its literally going to come down to how many internet hops for best experience, Calgary may be ok, but center of the universe TO might be better or vice versa.

Why anyone preorders anything is beyond me. I guess that's why I haunt r/patientgamers lol
I'm still old school. I'll keep my gaming PC over stadia. That being said 99% of my games are played with mouse and keyboard, and I love to multitask.

Yeah, preordered as well. I don't feel it is expensive for what it is.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Pretty excited to test it out on my pixel.
I think they said that you can use a keyboard/mouse and PC. The PC probably just acts as a dumb H.264 (or whatever they use) decoder along with a dumb keyboard/mouse relay to the server instead of the controller.

the controller has its advantages because it connects directly to the servers via wifi, not to the device which connects to the servers, so it's assumed it'll have slightly less input lag, whether or not that'll actually be noticable remains to be determined. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Are there any nickle parts that I can harvest and resell?

Yeah, I'm definitely more of a keyboard/mouse guy too. If the "Stadia App" runs and only requires an android tablet and a PC with Chrome running, I will probably try that first. Cuz the last controller I bought was the Steam controller, and it has served me well.
If beyond wants to throw me a buddy pass

I assume that they are min-speccing 10.7 teraflops per user at the server end. If demand is high, they might dilute it a bit, demand is low they might double it. But it would make sense to try and to "one 10.7 tflop" per peak user, and only offer up extra rendering power off peak.

i'd imagine it's going to share resources with their other services like their corporate hosting and stuff like that, so it should balance out for them having most of the corpoprate stuff used during day and gaming in the evening, give their servers better utilization. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
