Hi all - just a heads up that De Ronde van Cowtown will be on April 28 this year. The idea is that it's a group ride where we hit a bunch of the major hills in Calgary and end up at Fergus and Bix pub for some food and a pint. I've done it 2.5 times now (one year I joined late) and really enjoyed it, so I'll be back again this year.
Facebook group: "De Ronde Van Cowtown 2019 - 10th Annivesary Edition!" (including spelling error)
Details:
Starts at Eau Claire at 10AM on April 28th
Around 85(?) km with 1300m of climbing or something.

This is an unsanctioned ride, so ride at your own risk. Best not to wear club jerseys I suppose. Be self sufficient (spares, food, drink). Bring your climbing legs - people will attack off the front and you're welcome to chase but regroup at the top of every climb. People will drop off the back and go home early after 500m of climbing. About halfway through there is a break at Cadence Cafe in Bowness for a fuel stop.
Charles (lilmira) did it last year with me and besides having DI2 issues I think he really enjoyed it (I hope). Because it's the 10th Anniversary this year I'll be joining the organizer on a singlespeed to induce more suffering:
