Big thanks to Dave of Worth It Media.
That looks pretty deadly man!
Absolutely love this car.
Installed some traction tonight. Hopefully won't have to use them for a couple more weeks still.
soo much want
What a beauty!!
I have always had love for the next generation but this one is unique and really stands out.
Curious to see how it holds up in the winter, have some RWD fun with 5 speed trans and winter tires.
Lots of steering angle + long wheelbase = good times.Originally posted by black300

you going to black out the window chrome on it? would look better
I dunno, I kinda like the chrome trim on the windows. Suits the car I think. May even get the chrome kidney surrounds since they're missing. I mean, "deleted".
Installed some traction this weekend.
Guy that sold me my E39 M5 also had an E34 540i. His was 6 speed+LSD swapped, so he had the factory pumpkin sitting in his garage taking up room. He generously threw that in with the deal, FO' FREE.
Finally decided to weld up that diff and throw it in this weekend.
Pulled out my old diff.
The cap screws for the axles were all packed with this like thick clay, was hard to get good engagement on the hex. Ended up stripping one of the 12 bolts. Welding to the rescue.
This thing had been banged around a bit, the pinion flange was smooshed and the rear cover was broken at its mount. Just swapped with the stuff from my old diff.
Since his car is a MY94 it came with a 2.93, mine's a 95 and came with a 2.81. BMW makes diff ID very simple, there's a tag indicating the ratio and whether it's an LSD or not. (These are both open diffs)
"New" diff installed back into the car.
Very satisfied with how the car feels now. A lot more predictable how the rear end is going to behave. Ratio wise not much of a difference. Feels a little quicker but it's probably negligible.
So OEM diff with slightly shorter ratio = Dinan Diff
