I can't find a 12 speed chain, backordered everywhere, nevermind a new bike. It's kind of crazy to think that if I break my chain, my season is over...

I was in Bow Cycle in Jan and the service guy said order everything you need for the year. Got two chains, cassette, and chainring. Check with Inside Line - last time I was there they had a GX 12spd chain
Its a feeding frenzy still with anything bike related

Pretty stoked! I hope it either dumps snow for the next 4 weeks or is sunny and hot and biking starts early. Got some nice matching pedals last season

Anybody going full DH this year?
I picked up a Glory and my brain tells me I can still hack it but my old man body will tell me otherwise im sure.
I MAKE BALLER CARS MORE BALLER.....
^^ Not full DH, but I picked up a long travel Enduro last year (Specialized Enduro Comp).
I enjoy going down more than I do up.
Plan for this year is to build up my confidence being in the air again... Its been many, many years since my racing days.
If i dont get fucked up too bad i eventually want to go full DH. Im new to this and have been having some major fun at moose but man it can get pretty sketchy when youre rippin and you're pretty much guaranteed to hit trees if you bail lol Got a trip booked at KH and Revy so looking forward to thatThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Nice ride g-m! I did full downhill all season last year and had no trouble. Turned my wife and I into machines and made lots of enduro riders weep as we passed them on our climbs up. With that said, I’d definitely like to add an enduro to my arsenal. Though with the amount of bike park riding I do, if I could have just one bike it would be a DH.
I'm looking at getting back into mountain biking after a decade of being homeless (traveling). It seems that a lot has changed over the years with respect to 1x gearing, drop posts, and new geometry!
I'll mostly do trail riding - probably a lot of ups and downs - and am considering a hard tail XC makes the most sense (though I'm still a bit unclear on XC vs Trail vs Enduro vs All-Mountain).
Given that I live in Spain now I'm considering a Spanish or European brand but, like elsewhere, supply is limited. My budget is probably 1000-1500€ - unfortunately bikes seem to be more expensive over here than in Canada.
Any thoughts on the components on these two bikes for 1100€ ? Is Deore M6100 good enough or better to pay more for the SLX M7100?

Another option is for me to wait until I can find an H20 for 1300€ - I think it may be worth waiting for the SLX, Judy fork, and drop post?

Or any other recommendations...
The only real difference between Deore and SLX is weight.
Function wise they are the same. The cassette has different material to get the weight down.
I would go with Deore.

Can somebody school me on rear shocks quickly? The one on my downhill bike supposedly has a broken damper and would be 4-6 weeks to get serviced and would have to go to some shop in invermere.. It’s a Rockshox Kage RC 8.75 x 2.75 for a 2018 Trek Session 8 from what I can find. I’m wondering if I have to replace it with that specific size or if I can do something different? I was looking online and came across this but I am unsure if it will do as a direct replacement?

Thanks everyone
Give these guys a shot. I bought from them this month and had the chain within a week. They're super competitive on tires and components as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Are the rebuild kits available? Haven’t done it myself, but my buddy does his own... and I have to help him change spark plugs on a 5.0 Ford truck... sooooo, required mechanical ability is probably pretty lowThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Couldn’t find a rebuild kit but managed to find a dvo jade x that will fit. Supposedly ion suspension is the only place in western Canada that can fix it according to the folks in Kelowna. Finding parts is ridiculous right now, I had to call 6+ shops and spend over an hour searching online.

everything is just insane for inventory. GX shifter is like a 6 month wait
hey, curious what you guys think... is it just me or is the best options for a low travel but good ramp up suspension is the DW link style?
Not much of a biker myself, but needed a rack for hauling the kids bikes around and after looking for a while I came across Mammoth Mounts which is a local company. Owners are actually (or were?) forum members and super easy to deal with. Rack is super impressive and seems to be built better than whats on the market and local for easy pickup. Bikes mount via handlebars, so will fit mountain, road, hybrid and kids without issue. Comes in 4 or 6, but I only needed 4. I was able to chose the vinyl color to try and match the truck, not sure if they will offer that on a regular basis or now.

Looks like an awesome rack. Wonder if it would fit on my Vanagon. All the other bike racks mount on the rear window which makes me nervous with 100+lbs of bikes on it..
Definitely get a hitch rack for the westyThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Interesting... wonder how heavier FS bikes with carbon bars would hold up from a season or two of bumpy shuttle roads?
What about Heavy e-bikes with carbon bars. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
