In no place on Earth do they spell Colombia as Columbia.
You are correct. Damned untravelled, uncultured, unwashed Canadians.

Where can I find $$ coffee? I am used to paying $80 for a five lb bag from five21 here in Calgary and I am looking for a change.
I've been ordering from Agro Roasters lately. Their quality far exceeds the price point. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Not really my type of business but thanks for the suggestion

I should have probably just said it originally, I am looking to support more locally than Vancouver.

Monogram is always the answer locally… but your $80 (on subscription) will only net you about 3.7lbs of coffee
I applaud the commitment to local. I've found that locally it's either very expensive specialty roasters (monogram, phil and seb, sxf), or else more affordable but traditional (ie. darker) roasters. Keep us posted on what you find and end up with. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Are they grandfathering the old subscriptions? I was on the 5 bag program for probably close to 2 years, but got fed up when I kept getting the same bags over and over. Soon after I stopped, they downsized their standard bags from 340g to 300g and I think they got rid of the discount in favor of their rewards program. If I build a 5 bag subscription on the website right now, I'd get 3.3 lbs for $106This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Huh, yeah I’m not sure what I’m paying now? I though the bags changed but the price was the same. It’s for sure not as good at it use to be, before you’d get some special bags from time to time, haven’t had anything special for a while
Looks like Rosso is $95 for a 5 lb bag. Maybe I'll give that a shot.
Anyone heard of Il Caffe? $120 for a 5 lb bag
Kingdom coffee is $65 for a 5 lb bag. hmmmm

Rosso is good, never heard of Il Caffe, bought my truck from the guy that owns/runs Kingdom but never tried his beans.
Monogram has gone up a lot. For 2 bags delivered it was $40 for a 'regular' and 'fruity' mixed order. Now it's $40 for 2x 'regular' or $50 for 2x 'fruity' bags, and the bags decreased in size from 340g -> 300g.
There was a big write-up awhile ago about it and how their costs have increased. I was thinking ok, I'll just order a larger 2 lb bag and get it shipped (you save a whopping $1.90 by weight). Well it's cleverly $48 for 2lbs which requires a shipping charge (free for $50+ orders) and also isn't available for pickup at the cafes. But they have a rewards system!....
I love Monogram but man, their pricing is a lot to consider especially when their regular bags have decreased in size as well.
Just looked at Eclipse Coffee in Canmore. They have some nice options on a slightly different subscription but better value...

The coop Cal and Gary Ethiopian is pretty damned good, and an excellent value.

Yeah I love monogram but sadly can't/won't recommend them any more based on the price jump and decrease in bag size, double dip it up.
Some of the beans on their site I have bought in the past, a good while back all be it, is upwards of 25 bucks and it was of course always $20 a bag, and now it's 40 grams less too. Sorry but no thanks.
Home roasting ftw, still waiting for my kilo roaster to arrive from good ol' China
Rogue Wave Coffee in Edmonton is better than Monogram IMO. Their prices are reasonable, and they get delivered in 1-2 days.
Needed some cleaning supplies for our espresso machine and stopped in at National Cappuccino. They have several 2lb bags there worth looking at if you're in the area that are roasted specifically for them:

Never heard of Rogue Wave, even when living in Edmonton a few years ago. Thanks for the head's up.

Grabbed some new grinders while I'm in the big city today
Ode Gen 2 for filter/press use and a Niche Zero for espresso
