A 4K TV is going to scale anything you feed it up to 4K (even if it looks bad), otherwise the image wouldn't fill the screen. The quality of the upconversion will determine if it looks better than native 1080P or not, but it is still introducing extra information to the mix to upscale the signal to 4K. Plasma is going to be *way* better for spots/action than a LCD in most cases, you're most likely just noticing a low refresh rate. Does your TV have a "fast motion" or "smooth motion" or "240hz mode" or "anti judder" or anything like that? It will look like shit for most other content but probably better for sports and/or animations. Buying a 4K TV will not fix this.Originally posted by D__
Yeah nice shack.
Question about 4k tv's and 1080p from satellite. Does a 4k tv look nicer than a 1080p tv with same 1080p satellite feed?
Just picked up a 75" 1080p tv and do not like the resolution watching sports. Coming from a 50" plasma the screen looks choppy.
Question is would a 4k tv improve this?
The other possibility is low signal strength from your service provider. You mention it's a satellite, so check your signal strength as well. If the signal isn't strong, the TV tries to fill in areas it doesn't have enough data for and you get a similar effect.
