Those are also two guys who blame the left for literally everything bad in their lives though. I don't think I've heard of a normal person making the connection, not even my redneck coworkers who use shot and jab interchangeably. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Both terms will be bad eventually... Can't have a reference to guns as that is dangerous and offensive, so you can bet a reference to any form of fighting move (the jab of course) will soon be unacceptable as well. Jab is used in the UK and has been for decades. My parents grew up and were trained in Ireland and the UK, always heard both growing up. For want of another synonym, writers in North America started using jab more and more after more and more stories from the UK started flowing over. Maybe some found it more fun, maybe some liked that it could save a character in a twitter headline, maybe there were some who felt the connotation with gunshots or vodka shots or shot put was off-putting, and maybe some knew using a different term would make some people angry because they thought it was some 'woke' term when really they were just bored. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. But what doesn't change, is that it isn't a global term or concerted effort to replace shot with jab. It depends on the writer, depends on the source, and it isn't really something to worry about. Dose is the most consistent one:
Here are some links to articles where terms are used interchangeably, one or two are used, or even just one is used:
https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/corona...erts-1.5440009
-dose, jab, and shots
https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/corona...nand-1.5462869
- doses in the headline, shots in the body, no jabs.
https://www.cbc.ca/radio/whitecoat/a...ated-1.6060226
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...safe-1.6031887
-dose and shot used, no jab
https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/corona...like-1.5425804
- all three are used
https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/corona...able-1.5425100
-dose and shot
This one has three different terms in two sentences
https://globalnews.ca/news/7795994/c...anada-rollout/
At least 25 per cent of British Columbia’s population has received one dose, with a total of 1,542,066 shots administered there to date. In Alberta, just over 21 per cent of the population received their jab as well.
The Herald jumping all over the multiple terms
https://calgaryherald.com/news/local...9-vaccine-data
Another 105,079 first shots still need to be administered to reach this benchmark, as 2,559,723 Albertans have gotten at least one jab. There are 598,139 second doses also recorded.
https://calgaryherald.com/news/local...covid-19-shots
-shot in the headline where kids might see it, no jab
This one has shot twice in the same sentence, with two different meanings, and dose and jab in there too.
https://calgaryherald.com/news/local...h-vaccine-goal
Premier Jason Kenney is hoping a shot at $1 million can convince more Albertans to get their COVID-19 vaccine shot, as demand for first doses falters.
In a video posted to social media Saturday evening, the premier announced the “Open for Summer Lottery,” which will award three $1-million prizes to some Albertans who get the jab.
It goes on like that. Over and over. Pretty much any article you click on, the probability of seeing more than two terms increases as the word count increases. Dose, jab, shot, immunization, injection, vaccination, etc. So what does that point to as more likely: that the woke crowd has cancelled a word (unsuccessfully it turns out, even the CBC isn't getting on board), or that writers just wanted to use another synonym when talking about vaccinations and the Brits had one they've been using on the regular since Queen Victoria?

"Jag" in Scotland
No idea on how that evolved, but I'm used to anything sharp being called "jaggy", also "Urtica dioica" being called a "Jaggy Nettle" and any football team with a Thistle on their badge having "The Jags" somewhere in their nickname

Yeah, I was able to get in at South Health Campus. Still a haul for me, but not that bad. If I had to go to Red Deer I would probably be with you. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I didn't know what to think either. I am not that old, and the severe outcome is the most important and I thought it would be best to use the AZ so more people can get their shot sooner. Cause only people that had AZ before can have it now.
Am I the only one who doesn't even equate shot with guns? My mind instantly goes to alcohol, lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

By Wednesday evening we’ll have it in the bag.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."
