As soon as i saw Boyz n the hood in 92 I knew I needed an impala on hydraulics. Granted that's a 63 vert, the 64 impala is the most sought after car for lowrider enthusiasts, I finally got one.
This one needs everything from engine and tranny to body work and paint, floors and interior....everything. But the frame is good and it's already cut for hydraulics and comes fully plumbed with a one pump setup.
Good news is the body isn't terrible, no real rust, just a bad driver door and passenger fender. Friend of mine bought 2 64s in the last couple months, one that they decided isn't worth rebuilding, so they're gonna part me out all the stuff I need, all of it is in great shape, including a basically new interior.
I dont have much for pics right now, but plans are basically restore it to a driver over the winter and then slowly get it perfect.
And of course I figured I'd go with something familiar to everyone but me, a 5.3 LS. Still looking for someone to respond to any of my inquiries about 4L60E but apparently no one likes to respond.
I'm still unsure of my plans, long lasting reliability is my only plan so far, since this is the last car I will own as a project. My grail.
The garage is still being built, so its gonna be a bit before its home to work on it, but im itching!
