Ya, im with touchstone because Bill is awesome to deal.with, but i did a quote with belair and even though they won't insure the merc, they are half the cost. Im sure I can find someone to do classic on both the lightning and merc since intact does, they may even still do it.

I'm a loyal guy, but when it just keeps going up year adapter year for no reason, seeing someone else cost half the price makes you think.
I'd try Hagerty for those two.

Allstate has been good for everything else for me (autos + home)

Really happy with where things landed with the Personal.

Was able to reduce my home insurance to 44% of what TD wanted on my renewal, and my cars to 80% of what they charged me last year ( guessing a significant hike would have come in august on my renewal).

Home came down to TD trying to bundle way too much useless coverage I didn’t want into their base rate, they declared based on my postal code I couldn’t have less than $5MM of blanket coverage which seemed asinine. Cars I think was just them getting greedy after 10 years of continuous coverage.

It’s a shame because I have otherwise been quite happy with them, but they weren’t even in the ballpark this year.

Anyone done a claim with The Personal? Awaiting that review before I would switch there.

Dang that is huge savings. I am going to have them quote my house and two cars in the fall as they were one of the only ones to offer full coverage on my JDM Porsche.

This is just based on using your APEGA discount mainly?

My quote for home insurance with ThE pErSoNaL last year was pushing double what TD Meloche Monex was.
Even considering TD has nearly doubled in price due to increases over the last 5 years.

Honestly there is so many variables I don't really know what is best... It's just so annoying to get a quote as there is quite a bit of questions to ask depending how much shit you want to insure.

It's weird, but one person getting a great deal with one company has very little to do with the next persons quote.

Feels random, but I'm willing to assume it's just complex.

I asked for a quote. Their number was lower.

    It’s that simple.

We switched a year ago to The Personal because the cost savings was too substantial to ignore.

We meticulously went through the coverage compared to Intact, and it was the same or better. We haven't made a claim on a car or house, but we didn't with Intact either so we have no concept of how hard or easy it is. But signing up we had loads of questions and the reps knew things inside and out.

It should be noted that the personal has been a thing in Quebec for decades.

It hasn't specifically been mentioned but the APEGA discount helped a lot. By contrast, my wife was working at the UofC when we switched, and their union also got a discount but wasn't as good as APEGA's.

So between going with Allstate and Hagerty for the 4 cars and the house, I'm at $3900 for the year vs Intact which is going up to 6k at renewal.

That extra that im saving is just helping me though all the variable mortgage rate changes a bit lol

Almost the exact same experience as you. Saving $3K.
