Harold Faltermeyer doing the soundtrack?
Harold Faltermeyer doing the soundtrack?
It’s 2019. There should be a bunch of female pilots playing beach volley ball topless ffs.
Naked man football. Perfect
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Woah, not too many movies I'm excited about, but this is a must see. Grew up wanting to be a pilot from Top Gun. I must've seen Days of Thunder a dozen times too.
The USN in fact destroyed every last F14 they could, and made sure they gutted every possible useful part out of those being used for display. They were that concerned about Iran getting any possible spare parts that they completely mowed the F14 fleet once it retired, none went to the boneyard as what happens with many retired types for this reason. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Sweeeeeet. And I was just walking by the Top Gun bar yesterday haha
Watched the trailer again, looks like he's wearing a high altitude flight suit at the end? Was he flying the blackbird or some bullshit cgi plane like stealth?
He flies the F-14 at high altitude to take down a blackbird that's been remotely hacked and threatening to nuke America. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
He goes supersonic, chases down the blackbird, does his inverted flight greeting, pops open the canopy, starts running in the cloud because Tom Cruise running in a movie is like Newton's fourth law of the universe, finishes the other pilot with some kungfu shit and disarms the nuclear bomb with 0.01 sec left before detonation and yells mission accomplished.
So the mission was . . . . possible?
This movie has a shirtless greased up volley ball scene to live up to.
1986 trailer - complete with soundtrack that never went into the film

The F-14 vs F-18 is the equivalent of a V8 carbureated track Firebird vs a turbo charged track Civic.

I caught this trailer an hour after it was posted. Super excited for this movie even though it looks from the trailer like it has no plot to speak of.
All this F-14 talk seems out of place though. From the trailer, it appears like the movie is not some immediate sequel to the original, or a remake. It clearly mentions that he has had over 30 years of service, so quite some time has passed now. If there is any F-14 scenes I'm guessing they are flashbacks and not part of the current plot of the movie.
Tom didn't change much, Kelly did a bit

Paramount/Tencent appease Chinese government and removed Japanese/Taiwan patch from Maverick's jacket.
If I was a business with a potential loss of market access to 1.5 billion people, I would remove a couple of patches too. They arent asking to change the film title/subject - yet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
