    Default Firefox Users - Tricks for faster browser speed

    I just read this on another forum.

    1) enter about:config (not a typo) into the address bar --you'll get a config screen --the manual is not very clear on this stuff - even if you can find it

    2) scroll down to network.dns.disableIPV6
    3) right mouse click and select Toggle -- This will set off the IPv6 stufv which cause problems with DNS searches etc on a lot of sites --and ISP's --this will also enable you to use the DHCP settings in your router to get DNS and gateway from your ISP without manually having to enter DND IP addresses.

    Pages load a lot quicker as well.

    Other tweaks (but the above one is the most significant)

    Set network.http.piplining to TRUE

    network.http.piplining.maxrequests ===> 8 instead of 4

    network.http.proxt.piplining set to true.

    Also decrease the tiime the browse waits for info before using the information it receives

    right click anywhere on your screen which lists all the options and select NEW--> select integer

    name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay

    enter 0 for the Integer value when prompted.

    I don't know what this crap does. Mine does not even seem much faster.

    Awesome...thanks!

    Only thing is that my wireless internet seems to have to search for the router quite often now. Not sure if it's related.
