Next year, Nissan will bring to market not only its long-delayed new Sentra but also the company’s first U.S. subcompact in years.
Sources confirm that the smaller car will be an as-yet-unnamed, essentially identical version of the Japanese-market Tiida (above). Both a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan are set to bow at the Detroit auto show in January and will go on sale next summer. For now, we won’t be getting a version of the hot Sport Concept show car (below), but rumors have the next-generation Cube making its debut after the Tiida. The new Sentra is scheduled to follow in fall 2006.
