Nice turbo....t3/t4 I assume? , where did you get that exhaust pipe coupling?
I could really use one of those on my turbo project...

I hope you guys are going to get that manifold tig welded. Be a shame to go to all that work (and use stainless) if your going to mig it!

Now I don't know much, but I would like to know more, when making these manifolds, and welding them as shown, what does the inside end up like? Is there really ruff spots inside from the welding of the seams and how to you combat this? Sure you can weld the outside nicely and even grind it smooth if you wanted to look like one piece I spose' (mandrel bent if you will), but what goes on with the inside or is that not even an issue?

First off you would TIG weld that manifold, which is a very clean welding process. The penetration of the seam would be controlled by the welder, so if there are rough spots on the inside, it is because welder boy is a rook-newb
As for the outside, again if the welder is experienced, it should be ultra clean and require no griding.

Backpurging with argon is an excellent way to control penetration inside the manifold
If you were really concerned with it you could have the manifold extrude honed a bit to clean it out.

It looks really good Ancient, I recommend some heat shielding/wrap around the dp/alternator area and modifying the plastic alt plug to the metal clips with heatresistant wire.

Nice oilpan too, is that a custom piece?

Backpurging will only insure you don't have any big ugly "boogers" when you burn thru

The oil pan is actually an OBX copy of the Moroso aluminum pan. The craftmanship is actually extremely high qual.

The manifold and downpipe are all gonna be ceramic coated and in places that need wrap it will be applied.

Should have pics up soon of the manifold and downpipe all welded up very soon.
