so any of you guys done these....like honestly are they onyl gonna email you back if you answer everything what it should be? like i remember a question like if you received an extra 1 dollar item from a large mail order house as a part of a big order and the extra 1 dolalr item was a mistake, would you go to the trouble of mailing it back? so is that something that you "should" say yes to or what...

They are idiot tests, to weed out people that may have criminal tendancies, etc. Answer everything as obvious as possible that a bible thumper would approve.

hahaha, remember our TELUS Behavioural and competency testing? hahahaha

"Do you find joy in harming animals?"

"Do you enjoy lighting things on fire?"

"Have you ever thought about robbing a bank or armoured car?"

hahahaha, 500 questions of that, on top of the mathmatical and problem solving analysis. Was like applying for NASA just to gouge someone on their long distance.

Thats the point. They look at questions that seem like a bad thing to agree with, but everyone has thought of it. Answer "No" to a bunch, and obviously you're dishonest and dont fit their profiling = no hire.

My friend at FS just told me to rephrase the questions they give you.

    for example the question:
"If you found an extra dollar in a vending machine would you take it?"

    would become:
" If you found an extra... MP3 player laying around... Best Buys, would you take it?"

say you would vent out anger because they don't want a ticking time bomb on their hands

They keep the results of all the online tests, its not a simple "pass or fail" exam its just to profile you. It IS to test to see how honest you are so just answer the questions honestly and don't try to guess what they are expecting for an answer.

In regards to the telus questioning.
I answered the questions being truthful and a bit retarded.
My ex gf answered all the questions as to what she thought they would want her to say.
I got a call back, she didnt...

I read the results daily and you do not have to answer them dishonestly to get a call back. But if you answer them inconsistently you will fail. Also if you answer alot of questions like "have you ever had a shouting match at work" and other such questions you can expect no one caling you back.

and i was told that one you were suppose to say yes by a futureshop employee....wtf man hahah
trying is the first step towards failure

    well actually its set up
first question is actually something like
'if a member of your family were to steal something, what would you do?'
    a. tell on them
    b. not tell on them

    (first question is a bitch)
    second question is
'do you always tell the truth?'

They are just to weed out crazies, just make yourself sound as honest as possible - by lying, as long as it's within reason. They can't fault somebody for actually being a 100% honest person.

    ei,

Have you tought of robbing a bank? NO!
Have you ever stolen anything? NO!

Would you send back the 1 dollar credit if it was mistakenly mailed to you? No! (why would i pay 35 cents in stamps + my time fix sombodyelses mistake?) And if they ask you why you answerd that way on a job interview - the interviewer will be a 25-45 retail manager who doesn't care himself and will agree with you.

They also repeat questions but reword them to see if u answer consistently. Seriously though if you have trouble doing the online test, you really don't deserve to work at Future Shop and make the money sales people make there.

    amen kenny

if you can tconsistently answer the questions on the online interview why would they waste there time interviewing you in person they are pretty busy people.

and when the new deerfoot store opened they were pretty well hiring anyone who showed up.
