doesn't exist .
Is this separation? Or is it actual divorce (after 1 year)? Is it a mutual separation? Or is there gonna be a fight?

Good divorce lawyer? As a male he will find that he is going to get the short end of the stick
It would help a lot if they could use one lawyer (much cheaper), but its unlikely that ever happens.

All divorse lawyers for guys do is take the man out of the front lines where he would most certainly get bent over by the blood sucking feminist that the woman almost always hires. Now the man still gets bent over, but it's in private instead of public.
Without knowing the reason for divorse it's tough. Some can be mutual and can work out not so bad, but if it's a messy one (adultery) yeah, a 90:10 split favoring the woman is not unheard of, haha.

Ya need more details for sure but seeing how I am a courtrunner and file documents all day long for lawyers, I will go to the source and ask the clerks @ QB. I would give some names but I want to check with them first.Originally posted by nit78

I've heard women lawyers are the ones to have,.. if you've most certainly done nothing wrong and have tried to make the relationship work
women lawyers can be more cut-throat than any male lawyer, there's a hidden agenda within themselves to be better than male laywers so they'll go to greater extents to win a case.
providing they'll accept the case.

How long did it last? Does that make a difference? Does cause matter? i.e. What if it's a mutual split as opposed to a cheating spouse?Originally posted by 89coupe

If it's a mutual split,.. you've both agreed on terms and etc,.. if you have kids like I and have agreements on custody and etc,... you can do the paperwork yourselves and present it to a judge,.. or just get 1 lawyer to represent either one of you in court, fill out the paperwork and that may cost (pending how detailed) anywhere from $500-$1500.
do you trust your ex-partner enough that if there was 1 lawyer and they had it,.. they won't go around your back and change the agreement,.. then go to the judge, and have you on the spot with no laywer and a changed agreement.
ask yourself,.. do you trust you ex-spouse enough to save a couple grand or will it cost you 10's of thousands later.
