Default SAFC / Wideband O2 Sensor

Would this combination be a good setup to completely tune my air/fuel setup all across the RPM range? Am I missing anything doing it this way? More importantly, and I risking running lean doing it this way? Thanks

Yo bro, are you from that goat Calgary car forum that get salty over lawn care, land rovers and circumcisions? That's straight fire.

SAFC only allows you to pick certain RPM points (I think you can pick a maximum of 8). You can't tune your entire RPM range using it - well not as accurately as you would a standalone or better piggyback system anyway.

If you're just trying to clean up your stock maps to account for bolt on mods then I say go for it. If you're using it for F/I I would be careful.

The wideband is definitely needed for tuning though.

depends on your definition of "TUNE" really.

Do you have any sort of aftermarket ecu or standalone where you can actually make use of the wideband sensor by adding fuel and having timing control?.

So pretty much, the 92 sensor will tell you the afr and the safc will basically "modify" the signal to the ecu.

No that isn't really a good fuel setup imo.

But I'm not familiar with VW engines but I'm sure you can get a standalone like megasquirt and it's less than $500 if you actually were going to TUNE the motor.
