You only need to show the recall letter to Canadian tire, if requested. I thought Honda provided recall info to RIV, so you may not need it at all.

To answer your question, you won't need it while crossing at all. You'll only need it when you go and do your federal inspection.

I personally would always stick to a franchised dealer or a used dealer that is well known everywhere. I've bought off of eBay before from used dealers that have 100 percent feedback on over 100 transactions.

automotive.com provides a pretty good list of dealerships selling certified and inspected vehicles. I found the easiest way to sear was by make and state. So go to google and enter (ex. Washington Audi) and it will provide you with a list of every dealership as well as their adds for their used cars.

I just got a lexus rx 330 from US and i called Lexus to fax me the recall clearance letter and they are very nice to help me out. Somehow, before i get a chance to fax my recall clearance letter, RIV already sent me form 2 with the x mark on recall clearance letter section. I guess Lexus also sent it to RIV.

Not sure, when I crossed the border they asked to see my recall letter, and then when my form showed up it was also checked off that it had been provided.

For alberta pretty much. iirc it is the only alberta one that you can do the importation process through Alberta is not a very wide province though, so i would always go through there anyways.

Im coming from the east so I'd much rather cross through North Dakota.

It wouldn't be the end of the world to cross at coutts, it would just take an extra couple of hours that I would much rather shave

oh dont do that, you can just drive fast in montana. you would have to pay pst ontop of the gst and duty at the crossing, that is why it is worth the extra couple hours. i came from the east also, once you hit north dakota and montana there is no traffic and the limit is 75 so it is not too bad.

I dont think it should be too bad, the weather here over the next while is pretty good and dry so montana should be similar, and those roads would be really fun if dry. I came all the way from detroit last time, boring drive until i hit those upper states.

When I came back with my car I was doing 120mph+ through Montana and it was so much fun, I think I saw about 10 cars in 5 hours too.. haha
