What can you tell me about them? reliable or can someone direct me to a forum for them?

Well those Jag's depreciate like nobody's business. As for reliability, Ive heard its shit but cant confirm. I actually saw a 02 XJR (370 hp S/C V8) with 60K in the bargain finder for like $32K, not bad considering it can roll with an E55 and M5
i own a 1987 XJ6 Sovergin and i can list the main things that go wrong!
Reliable, somtimes a bitch to start first thing in the morning. Drivetrain issues (shifts hard if you punch it.
Biggest issue is the electrical. Sensors are quite fucked. The entire wiring system is suggested to be re-done. For instance the constant (lamp out) alert turns on all the time everytime you signal. ABS seems to have issues. "Brake fluid low" is quite common.
Luckey me, i re-wired my car so she runs good!
The smell of fuel! When your pressure valve on the gas-cap is clogged or worn, you get and intoxicating smell of gas in her.
Finally the stock radio.. The drivers side seems to go unless you put aftermarket in her.
But i got mine fully fixed!!! It cost me about 10g's when i was done, but she is now mint!

The XJS was a car fraught with problems. As the successor to the legendary E-type, it should have been an instant classic.
Unfortunately, Jaguar didn't quite come through.
The XJS used very cheap components. Chief among those are the electrical connectors, which fail on a very regular basis. the suspension also used very poor bushings and connectors, which ruined the handling.
The engines, too suffered the same problem. The V12's are notorious for extremely poor reliability and chronic overheating problems. The I6 motors didn't suffer those same problems, which may have been the saving grace of the car.
However, there is another side to the story: the price. If you're mechanically knowledgeable, and are prepared to deal mith the myriad problems associated with the XJS (especially the late 80's ones), you can have a classic British roadster for very cheap. Where else can you buy a V12-powered sportscar for $5000?
If you're set on an XJS, but aren't quite ready to work on the rather complicated 6.0L V12, the 4.0L I6 version is quite liveable as a Sunday driver. It is much more reliable and still packs a punch.
[Edit: I misread the title as "XJS" instead of XJ6. Whoops.]
