    Default replacing home windows

    Anyone here know of any contractors that replaces windows?

    My house is about 32 yrs old with the original wooden windows. needless to say, frost and condensasion occurs.

    Wow, coincidence. My parents are getting the windows replaced to triple glazed/uv/ slightly tinted windows. To keep the house warm in winter and cool in summer, something like that.

    anyway, good people

    Read up on why condensation occurs - it has to do with humidty and relativate dewpoint.

    So don't be disappointed if you buy new windows which still show condensation....

    YOu can head down to Totem/Rona/Home Depot and pick up some plastic window insulation packages, it comes with double sided tape and a large sheet of thin plastic wrap. Just follow the instructions and you can seal up your windows. Works really well plus it improves the insulation.

    You can also buy dehumidifiers that will pull moisture out of the air and drastically reduce the amount of condensation/ice buildup on your windows.

    Those things are great until your two year old starts poking holes in them.
