    Default Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

Unveiled at the Los Angeles show, this four-wheel-driver runs a more powerful version of the Cayenne Turbo’s twin-turbocharged 4.5-liter V8 engine, putting out 521 hp at 5500 rpm and 531 lb-ft of torque between 2750 and 3750 rpm. That is a 71-hp and 71-lb-ft improvement on the standard Cayenne Turbo. It makes this new S the second most powerful road car Porsche has ever placed into production after the 5.7-liter, 605-hp V10 Carrera GT. It’s also enough to lower the big, 5200-pound SUV’s 0-to-62-mph time from 5.6 seconds to 5.2, as well as provide it with a 50-to-75-mph fifth-gear time of 5.4 seconds.

I think that the srt8 jeep is still faster for a quarter of the money.

faster? actually it is faster according to some magazines. motor trend apparently got it to 60mph in 4.8
better? well its about as ugly as the cayenne, but not as plush
    nicer? no
better offroad? it could be, it may be a street truck but it's still a jeep.
cheaper? well ya you got that right.

but then again MT got the porsche to 60mph in 5.1 before the extra 71hp...

Manufacture has tagged its 0-60 @ 5.2 and in the field, it's anywhere from 4.1 to 4.5.

And the SRT8 group got a few runs in the low 4 sec section, to be exact.....4.2sec

It would be a close one for sure. Also, you cant really compare the two. Jeep and Porsche are apples to oranges, the SRT8 would take it from a dig, but at the end of the day I would rather see the Porsche emblem in my gargage.

so chrysler somehow got the jeep, which is just as powerful and 600 pounds more than the 300c SRT8 doing 0-60 faster than the 300c by .7 seconds?? and then on top of that, claiming it is a full second slower than it actually is?

anything below very high 4s is pure BS. theres no way an SUV with 25hp and ~1500+ pounds more than a corvette can accelerate as fast as a vette

Or a 360, for that matter.

BTW, I'd take the SRT over the Cayenne in this case because it is a Porsche, and I just hate the Cayenne. It doesn't matter that they actually did a good job of it, it can actually do very well off-road and it's pretty fast. I just hate the Cayenne.

For the price of a Cayenne I will buy a srt8 jeep for winter, the new c6 z06 for summer and probably a srt8 300c just for cruising.

You guys keep forgetting the advantage of AWD. The Jeep SRT8 get the power down to all four wheels. the 360, the 300C SRT8, the Z06, all only have two contact patches. Launching the Jeep is hella easier.

The Porsche will be WAY better off road. The suspension is adjustable. The SRT8 is lowered and has a bunch of body cladding that will get in the way.

I thought about that, and then realized that first off, the extra 600 pounds would almost negate that advantage over the other cars. Secondly, all the magazines and manufacturers that get the 0-60 times are definitely skilled enough to drive the cars to at least close to their potential (eliminating the easier to drive factor), and also, no magazine has gotten the jeep to do it in 4.2.

As a little more food for thought, a 1999 lamborghini diablo VT with 523hp (98 more than the jeep) and weighing 3583 pounds (1205 less than the jeep) and has AWD, can do 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. I know this is all just bench racing, but if you ask me, saying the jeep is just as fast as that is damn silly

BTW I doubt that someone who just dropped $250000 on a suv will take it off road .

Man, both those cars are so ugly. Why you want such a fast SUV anyways? If i had a choice it would be the G55, so classy.

haha mo_virigin CMS had oen in their showroom a couple fo weeks ago, god damn it was hot!

AWD in the Jeep would launch much better then 2 wheels on anythign else. Don't you remember when the STi first came out, every has videos of STi's vs. something faster but since those damn thigns snatched all 4 wheels off a launch they were gone until the power was put the ground for somethign quicker!

try 126k for the turbo and 157k for the turbo s

And what does it matter if not a lot of people use it's offroad capabilities not many people take their G55 or H2 or any vehicle offroads for that matter. What does matter is that when those few people who decide to take their cayenne out for some fun, their windows won't pop out under articulation (pretty much any japanese suv) or have their springs pop out (land rover)

I disliked the Cayenne when it first came out, but now I actually like it (this new one looks good). Check out the Porsche USA website, Cayenne Turbo S is hot (looks amazing in blue).

    Porsche MSRP:
    $111 600 (USD) or approx. $129,991.68 (CAD)

Edit: Also, Porsche lists a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds.
