Photographer Weekend Walkabout...

Any of the photogs. on here interested in meeting up for a walkabout some time this weekend...

Nothing as organized as a meet (as we can't seem to pull another one together)... Just an idea.. I was looking at getting out this weekend regardless, seeing if anyone else interested...

Man, I could really go for something like that this weekend. My week's been shit-awful and I could use some photography to clear my head. Maybe I'll even get to try out a DSLR this time.

Whereabouts were you thinking of doing this? I just kinda want to plan my transportation route beforehand.

Ummm.. I hadn't gotten that far yet... I was thinking around downtown possibly? Princess Island Park? Stephen Ave. Possbly Nose Hill Park (for landscapes)...

Just a couple ideas I had... I'm hoping D'z Nutz will be up for this aswell... he always seems to have some wicked locations...

Prolly be during the afternoon I am guessing.. You might be able to make it out for an hour or so depending..

I would except that I have to work on Sat and then drive to Edmonton on Sunday. So this weekend is out for me but we really have to get a photo meet actually going.

We were trying after our last meet... but that has completely fallen apart..

Sorry guys, I'd love to be in on this, but I'm up in Edmonton tomorrow all day and Sunday's don't work out very well for me.

If you want to do another walkabout next week (friday or saturday), I'm down with doing some night time downtown shooting. I wouldn't mind playing around some of the bridges along the bow river.

Well..... This kinda fell through for me this weekend, when I went to pack up my bag and realized both my batteries were dead..

So............. I am looking to re-plan this walkabout thing.. Looking to do it this Friday evening downtown.. give everyone a bit more time/notice if you want to come...

I'm in. I'm busy until about 8:30'ish, but I'll be downtown anyways so I can meet up right after that. We can do some shooting for an hour or two then hit up somewhere warm for some coffee and food or something.

Where do we want to meet up/shoot? Stephen Ave is nice, I've wanted to get some pics there for a while. Then again, this is a walkabout, so we only really need to set a starting point.

Would like to get up near Centre St. Bridge.. Depending how far that is from where we start.. But I am pretty easy.. Where ever works..

Well, at least we've got at least 3 people so far.


I'm stoked because I just found out that my camera can do manual focus and custom white balance - but you have to know the secret button combination to unlock it.

I'm dead serious. The features are built into the camera, but they're not listed in the manual and you have to know the secret button sequence to use them.

Sounds to me like someones been suckin back on grandpas old cough medicine.

I MIGHT be tagging along, depends if I go snowboarding really, will bring out my Canon Powershot A70, and put all you SLR guys to shame, show you what a REAL camera is all about.
