Hey,
Just interested to see how much people have OC their cpu and stuff. Post your stats so I can take a look!

There is no replacement for displacement
Athlon XP 754pin 3200+ @ 3.21g
Not the biggest OC but its with the stock fan so i'm not pushing it till i get a new heatsink.

Does overclocking really make that much difference in performance?
Upgrade your RAM and get a faster hard drive - you'll get amazing results from that... It's never the processor that's the limiting factor.
Good ram and a quick HDD do help... but if you're overclocking it's likely you've already done that and are trying to push the envelope on what your system is capable of... Just built a new computer recently with a (64bit)3200+, but I haven't overclocked it yet since I haven't felt the need to. My previous computer passed onto my brother had a xp2500+ which runs perfectly stable at a 3200+ rating... Very impressive... Benchmarks show that this OC'd proc. performs almost on par with the 3200+ in my computer...

The XP 3200+ only ever ran at 2200MHz, to get it to 3210 would be impossible. And there is no real way to create your own AMD style numbering scheme because no one really knows how they come up with those numbers.
As for me, we have one computer running an AMD FX-57 at 3.0GHz and my personal computer is a AMD-64 3000+ running at 2.3GHz. both of them are on stock cooling solutions and have run dead stable for months.

Built my new rig (minus the processor, in transit) over the xmas holidays.
Running an AMD Opteron 165 (1.8ghz) they overclock to 2.6ish on air, however my small form factor mobo may only get me up to 2.4ghz due to bios limitations.

ATI X800 GTO2 (patched to 16 pipelines and oc'd to x850PE speeds)
Unfortuanatly I work out of town and wont be able to install the cpu and start the OC till I get home. BUT its a small case built to replace my laptop, so I'll carry it on the road along with my 24" widescreen Dell lcd.
I understand overclocking when you can get 400+ Mhz out of a 300Mhz with stock heatsink. But spending extra $$ on cooling just to get another 10-20% is waste of money IMO.
im still on stock intel heatsink and fan and take a look at my temps.
i only have 2 x 80mm fans and 1 x 120 mm fan.
the 120 mm fan came with my case
for coolin i spent 16 bucks cause i bought the 80 mm fans off my uncle that he got cheap so it was 8 bucks per fan thats like 18 bucks brand new!!
AMD 2800+ 1.80ghz/1.98ghz
Just a conservative OC since its my first time doing it.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

Northwood P4 1.6A @ 2.56 GHz stable since 2002 on stock Intel HSF.
Probably won't overclock my next rig, just because I don't have the time to do all the research.
how much voltage are you psuhing to your processor???? ^^
Man unleash that thing. I bought a new heatsink for my ol 2500+ and overclocked that sucker till it was registering as a 3200+, i think it was stable at around 2.4g.Originally posted by gpomp

I have a 3.4P4 with the Zahlman Fatal1ty fan... it's been at 3.91 for months with no problems... I can run 3DMark05 at 4.1GHZ stable.
P4 - 3.4GHZ ---> 3.9GHZ
1GB ram (Going to 2 GB OCZ PC5400)
7800GT
Asus motherboard SLI with NF4 PE chipset
250GB Sata 8mb cache
Enermax 600 Watt All in one Noisetaker
I'm getting a second 7800GT in a couple of weeks here... as well as the 2GB of faster ram. Once the new AMD M2 stuff comes out im gonna get a Dual Core FX-6? then move to two sata 2's in raid with 16MB cache and NCQ.
Liquid cooling will probably come soon after.
1.6 Vcore - for the first 6 months, I did not get a Prime 95 stable system beyond 155MHz FSB. One day for fun, I tried to push it past this and managed to get to 160MHz FSB without changing the voltage. It is Prime95 stable for 24 hours, and temps do not break 50 degrees with the stock HSF.Originally posted by GQBalla

pretty decent!
i dont want to push up my voltage.
dont want my northy to crap out all the sudden
