Hey I'm just wondering if anyone here is familiar with the electrical wiring of these cars? I'm having a bitch of a time finding a 12V switch power in the trunk (for my amp's remote wire).
any leads? thanks

remote wire for amp? you dont wanna use a constant 12v to that since your amp then would be always on. Use the remote wire out of your deck, if you dont have a remote wire, then you can use the ignition wire back of your deck, which will only be hot when your engine is on.

what kinda of deck are you running? factory? also you might have factory amp already installed in your trunk for running your mids. check in the left side under the carpet cover. If theres an factory amp in there, get a test light out and find out which wire is hot when your ignition is on, and turns off when ignition is off. If so you can use that wire for your new amp remote.

Anyways, there's a power antenna cable that goes into the back of your HU. I think it's purpleish greyish with a red stripe on it....(i think). It powers down when the car is off. Just try a few of the cables......there are only 2 that have power. The big red one, and the one I mentioned. The big red one supplies constant power even when the car is off.
I'm using tha tto power my XM right now.
I want those wheels too.. too bad its not my carOriginally posted by Goblin

that's why I said "switch 12V".. I wanted to keep my stock deck so I have an LOC converter.. so no remote out of that.. my final option is to run a wire from the accessory power out front (which is a switch power source) but I really dont feel like taking out all the panels again so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a 12V switch power source in the rear area?Originally posted by j0nblayz

Only thing I can think of would be if the car came pre-wired for other junk if you could hop into one of those unused wires. Thats assuming it came pre wired.
