Default HELP! Car won't even crank!

My moms Cavalier won't even crank. Just this morning she turned the key and nothing happened. She didn't even turn it on all day yesterday and it was -30C. It's been sittin in the garage since Friday night. It's now plugged in. Oh and the ABS Light was on I think Tuesday from her drive home from work. I read the manual and it said pull to the side of the road and shut the car down then restart it, if its still on it needs to be in a shop. that worked and the ABS light was gone. I don't think that has to do with it, but just trying to give more info.

Anyone have an idea of whats going on?
Its just probably the weather right...?

Yeah, batt. is dead. Plugging it in will not charge the battery, you will need a battery charger or another vehicle to jump it with.

chances are you'll need a new battery and the current one is bad, still try to recharge it but don't be suprised if it won't hold a charge.

    cold weather kills cheap batterys

Check the terminal posts on the battery and clean them really well. Also clean the inside of the cable connectors before you get a new battery. Try sandpaper or a wirebrush to clean them. You nead all the conduction you can get in this weather.

I asked my mom some questions bout the car, and she said the batt. is pretty new, so I decide to check out the car again, and it turns out that it was in Drive the whole time.
I don't blame my mom for it, someone rear-ended her on friday and damaged the bumper, but other than that its all good

    Thanks for the help guys!
