Battery Issues

Hey guys, long time no see.

Today I had some crazy and sudden problems with what I believe to be my battery. I had trouble starting the car a couple times and once I got it started to move slowly, the car had lost all power, bringing me back to step one (the throttle stopped responding, all electronics turned off). I was finally able to get the car rolling and drove it to higher speeds once i got out of the parking lot and into traffic - there were no problems after this.

When I got home and looked under the hood, I took a look at the battery. There is a bluish crystal like substance build up on the nodes of the battery. I suspect this is the culprit and I'm just wondering what it is and what measures I could take (besides replacing the battery, or parts of it).

i had the same problem with my 240. So i went to parts source and bought a battery post brush. Disconnected my battery cleaned the post then hooked it back up and worked just like new again.

You can clean that stuff off with any brush. Use baking soda+water to neutralize any battery acid.

fine grit sand paper will work also

that stuff is battery acid and after a while of being there can interupt the electricity flow
